Void

In the distance, there they stand,
a cluster of trees in quiet land.

A shelter of leaves, a golden hue,
where once the winds of comfort blew.
But time has drawn a line so stark,
a path that splits the light and dark.

I walked through shadows, felt the chill,
crawled through earth, against my will.
To leave the shade, the last embrace,
and walk into the empty space.

Yet in the emptiness, there’s room to grow,
to find new roots, to let old ones go.
The trees will stand, as memories do,
a distant shape, a fading view.

But I’ll walk on, and as I part,
I leave behind a piece of heart.

For shelter’s sweet, but freedom calls,
in open fields where no shadow falls.
And as I walk, a spark ignites,
a gentle flame that’s soft and bright.

A spark, unseen by common eyes,
ignites the strength I recognize.

Someone sees the strength I hide,
the beauty and the will inside.
A hidden message, clear and bright,
that whispers softly in the night.

No grand display, no banners high,
just quiet glow that lights my sky.

And so I walk, with hope in hand,
ready to see where we both stand.
In the warmth it gives, I find my way,
embracing the journey, come what may.
